Automatic Jar Screw Capping Machine
An inline screw-capping platform for jars and containers using threaded closures, with adjustable bottle handling and controlled cap tightening for repeatable production.
Start with real samples. Your jar, lid and target output provide a more reliable recommendation than choosing by model number alone.

See the machine clearly and assess whether it suits your jar range.

Ask for a demonstration using your own jars and lids before the machine is specified.
Use these figures to create your first shortlist.
Your confirmed specification will be based on real jars, lids, product conditions and an agreed trial.
| Indicative output | 20–60 containers per minute, product and format dependent |
|---|---|
| Indicative cap diameter | Ø18–70 mm |
| Indicative container diameter | Ø20–160 mm |
| Indicative jar height | 30–300 mm |
| Indicative air pressure | 0.4–0.6 MPa |
Planning figures only. Final capability is confirmed against your production jars, lids, product conditions and required line layout.
Best suited to a defined jar-and-lid range.
Threaded plastic or metal lids on stable glass or plastic jars where medium automatic output and changeover flexibility are required.
- Inline conveyor format for continuous jar movement
- Adjustable fixtures for a range of approved formats
- Repeatable screw tightening rather than manual closure
- Can be considered with manual placement or a dedicated lid feed
What this route is designed to improve
Controlled closure application can reduce variation from hand tightening, make the cycle easier to train and provide a clearer basis for quality checks.
It does not remove the need to validate seal performance. Torque, lid height, vacuum, leak testing and visual finish should be defined for the actual packed product.

Send enough information for a realistic configuration.
Supply jar and lid samples, the intended tightening torque, thread finish details, the filled jar weight and the planned cap placement method.
- Samples: production jars, lids and any liners or tamper features.
- Process: fill product, temperature, residue risk and finished-pack checks.
- Output: target jars per minute, batch pattern and operator availability.
- Integration: floor space, conveyor height, power, air and adjoining equipment.
Automatic Jar Screw Capping Machine questions.
Is this machine suitable for glass jars?
It can be considered for glass jars when the closure is threaded and the jar can be guided safely. Samples and handling trials are required.
Does it include an automatic lid feeder?
The core capping route and the lid-feeding route should be specified separately. A bowl, elevator, chute or manual placement arrangement may be selected.
Can output always reach 60 jars per minute?
No. Indicative output is format dependent and must be confirmed using the actual jar, lid, line spacing and cap presentation method.
Ready to check this machine against your pack? Send your jars, lids and target output, or view related Lancing machine information.
Specify the closure result, then configure the machine around it.
The machine setting is not the finished-pack specification. Application pressure, head speed, jar restraint and cap presentation must be connected to a measured result on production components.
| Stage | Control | Trial evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Cap placement | Cap arrives square, finds the thread start and is not driven while visibly tilted. | Placement video, cross-thread count and failed-cap teardown. |
| Jar support | Guides or belts prevent rotation without crushing, scuffing or contacting an unacceptable decoration area. | Approved contact zones and samples from the lightest and least stable jar. |
| Tightening | Head or wheel settings produce the agreed application/removal result without cap damage. | Instrument, method, timing, sample size and results by component batch. |
| Release | Capped jars leave without back-driving, collision or a downstream queue changing the result. | Running video, stop/restart test and defect log. |
For general screw-capping machinery outside jar applications, the wider closure family is covered by Screw Cappers UK. This page remains focused on jar geometry, wide-mouth packs and jar-specific handling.
